Ideally located close to the city of Derry, Arkle house offers bed and breakfast accommodation in bright comfortable rooms overlooking one of our gardens. We are close to the golf courses of Donegal and Derry, the Giants Causeway and the Bushmills distillery. Arkle House is ideally situated 1.5 miles from Derry city centre. We have shops, post-office, chemist, church, restaurant, pub and sports complex all within five to ten minutes walk. Arkle House described in the original brochure as a “Gentleman’s residence”, was built around 1900. The property has been recently refurbished, with great care taken to maintain the original charm and ambiance of this lovely old building. Most of the original features, such as the antique fireplaces, frieses, picture rails, etc can be seen. The many favourable comments we get from our guests is testament itself to the skill of the craftsmen who worked on the restoration.
This modern hotel in the town center has an excellent location, overlooking the waters of the River Foyle. Guest rooms are contemporary in style with neutral modern decor, comfortable beds, and plenty of space. Its targeted primarily at business travelers, so it offers all the conveniences you might hope for, including a handy (if not spectacular) restaurant, a bar, and a swimming pool. But its main attraction is that great spot, right in the middle of the action.
